Harness Yin in a Yang Driven World

Yin Yoga School focuses on the balance between two primordial archetypes, or energetic principles: Yin and Yang.

Although it may seem we’re focusing on Yin… we don’t emphasize either.

Instead, we create room for Yin to join the stage next to the Yang, building a foundation for a resilient inner balance. In the Yang driven world, harnessing Yin, simply restores the balance.

This is why, our students receive the best of the traditional yoga teacher training, and some more.

From trauma informed yoga, restorative yoga and modern sciences that support body-mind-breathe alignment, to life-changing philosophy on Yin and Yang, our small-groups YTT are your ticket to the confident yoga teacher, equipped with unique knowledge.

Our founders and teachers

Maya

Maya has a nursing bachelor’s degree and a masters in psychology. Then… she has a long list of various yoga teacher trainings. Starting with a 200 and 300 YTT at Vyasa Yoga Peeth School India in 2016.

She has since completed 5 more various YTT in India and Bali, counting more than 1300 hours of YTT trainings.

Her studies span across traditional Hatha, multistyle, yin and restorative yoga, and today she loves to combine multiple modalities—from breathwork techniques, to functional anatomy and myofascial release all with a goal to support the body’s recovery and nourish body & mind connection.

The path that started in 2016 led her across various schools in Croatia, teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga and multiple flexibility classes that are more therapeutic, than goal oriented.

Maya has also been a lead teacher in multistyle 200 YTT at Inner Yoga Bali, where she taught Yin & Yang, introduction to TCM, functional anatomy and breathwork.

Her love for Yin is what fuels her to keep piercing deeper and deeper into understandings pathways to unlocking the body and connecting it to the mind and breath.

This is what Maya brings to the yoga shala: advanced and beginner YIN, yoga therapy, traditional Hatha, Yoga Nidra and the art of guided meditation, pranayama techniques, somatic therapy, functional anatomy and TCM (traditional chinese medicine). If you are curious about all possible hacks and tricks to unlock the body... You want to be in the same yoga shala as her.

Pratik

Pratik has a rich education history, from a classic YIC at Swami Vivekananda University, to Masters in Yoga and Post Grad Diploma in Yoga Sciences. He has also studied Yoga therapy and Meditation at the Morarji Desai National Institution of Yoga.

His teaching style combines Hatha, Vinyasa and Yoga therapy. Pratik strives to bring together the modern understanding of health and well-being and traditional yoga teachings with a goal to harmonize the body, mind and breath. He believes there is no such thing as a perfect alignment (or a perfect teacher), each yoga asana and yoga practice is personal and adaptable to the individual. His passion is encouraging students to thrive through imperfection, focusing on courage to show up authentically.

Pratik has a distinct Yin energy, palpable through his teaching approach and his dedication to support the local community by investing in the ongoing education of Yin Yoga School staff.

From his first yoga retreat in 2009, he has since taught in over 500 centres or retreats across the Middle East, India, Bali and Europe. You can rest assured to be in safe hands of someone who has instilled love for yoga in more than 5000 students.
